Kite surfers on Delray Beach!

We went walking on the Atlantic Ocean beach here today and saw these kids, actually 20 somthings, doing kite surfing. They were using directionally controlled kites and wakeboards, almost like the wakeboard we use on the Fox River at home in Saint Charles, IL.

They can completely control the kite's direction and when they dig in with the wakeboard, they can even "tack" upwind enough to not get hauled downwind away from where they started.
They can haul up on the kite and get humongous "air" almost whenever they want.
Of course, sometimes they wipe out too, but it still looks like fun!
We walked far enough down the beach to run into the private beach estates. Kathy picked up a real estate magazine and she says we can get one of these for a mere $5 mil! Of course, it could only be our winter home...too hot and buggy in the summer.
