Cruzin' Again!
Nice flybridge day, temps in the mid 80s and no waves because we were in the ICW all day on the way up to Delray Beach, which is only about 50 miles north of Miami, but a nice easy trip on the ICW up past Fort Lauderdale and a couple miles past Boca Raton. Sometimes I think about our two sons at our house in Illinois, having to blow the snow off the driveway before they drive through it too work. Sorry guys! (but not too sorry to enjoy this)

There were lots of spectacular ICW frontage homes along the way, worth millions, I'm sure. There were miles and miles of these along the ICW in the fancy towns like Boca Raton, which we passed through.

We passed Port Everglades on the way too. It is obviously a major shipping and transit port with huge ocean freighters unloading at the port.

There are cruise ships at Port Everglades too.

And in case you're wondering how you get your yacht here from Panama or California, you just ship it here like these big yachts on an even bigger boat.

Delray Beach is a nice touorist and beach town on the thin strip of barrier islands land that separates the ICW from the Atlantic Ocean. The beach is miles long with excellent sand and surf. Not many seashells on the beach, but Kathy added a few like this one she just found to her collection. We walked the beach, which is only about 5 blocks from our boat, and then walked the beachfront shopping area and read the menus at all the restaurants. Unfortunately, the one with the menu I liked the best had too loud music (maybe I'm getting too old?) so we had to settle for the second best menu restaurant, which had a really good guitar player and accompanist and weren't too loud, and the food turned out to be great.

And talk about your palm lined streets.... Delray Beach has them aplenty! We decided to stay here 2 days since it's nice and the ICW will get really busy on the weekend and speed limits are slower.

Nice to know you're thinking of us as you tan, Dad. Funny, we're thinking of you as we're clearing the snow too!
