We're in Trenton, Ontario where the Trent-Severn Waterway to Lake Huron begins. I can't believe that my Verizon wireless card from USA is still working to give me internet. Our Verizon cell phones have been on roam only since we entered Canada. We cruised through Lake Ontario today in calm waters on a nice warm flybridge day. In fact, it was 90 degrees temps today so the bridge was the coolest spot on the boat because it has better breezes.
Except for the few small cities we passed, like Bellview, the Canadian water frontage to Lake Ontario was mostly pretty farms with occasional lakeside cottages. I have a feeling that waterfront property around here is so plentiful that it's cheap. Of course, there are only 3 months where it's warm enough for "summer cottage" use. Still, it's beautiful land.

Tomorrow we'll start up the Trent-Severn. The bridges are all supposed to be 22 ft. or higher and I took Nonchalance under one the local marina says is 22 ft. 6 in. today and we had 2 ft. to spare without folding down the radar arch. Tomorrow, we'll get to the first 22 ft. bridge on the charts and hope we can leave the arch up.
