We're in New York City!

We cruised up from the Shrewsbury river to New York today. First we passed Long Island far off in the distance to starboard.

Then the Verazano Narrows bridge comes into view with Staten Island on the left and Brooklyn on the right.

We cruised under it.
Then, in the outer harbor, there is Brooklyn on the right and Jersey City on the left.

Cruising by the Statue of Liberty is a thrill. Of course, I went close and cruised slow. If I had had a CD of The Stars and Stripes Forever, I would have played it to add to my goosebumps.
Followed by Brooklyn and Manhattan on starboard and Ellis Island on port, where hundreds of thousands of immigrants entered the United States, possibly including Kathy's and my ancestors.
Now we're across the Hudson River from Manhattan in a Jersey City marina which, according to the Hatteras Owners Forum members, is the only NYC marina that doesn't suffer from constant rolling from ferry wakes. It is very nice and calm here in the marina. Here's the view of Manhattan from our aft deck, and out the port side of the aft deck is a view of the Statue of Liberty. We'll be here for a week before starting up the Hudson River.
